Today is Saturday, June 21st, 2014 the longest day of the year but for the Health Science Academy students the day felt short as we attended the powwow located in Kyle. The powwow itself started at one in the afternoon until ten at night, including food booths selling many yummy foods, along with dances held for competitions that took place. Although it rained within a few hours into the powwow, that wasn’t enough to put an end to it. Therefore, after the rain, most the Health Science Academy students had the chance to take part in the dances open to everyone. The dances itself was just amazing, and really unexplainable unless one has participated in one. The experience is just something great and memorable from learning steps of the dances done to just being part of the circle as everyone crowded around in those in traditional clothing. Overall, being part of the powwow, and the feelings created along with everything was just great and breathtaking, something that one must just do, and experience their own kind of feeling.
