Today we travelled through the Badlands to eat lunch with wild buffalo. It was about a 45 minute ride from where we are staying and it had to have been the prettiest drive I’ve ever been on. The Badlands are absolutely stunning, the pictures I’ve taken don’t compare to what it looks like in person. We drove for awhile before seeing the first buffalo. He was standing alone in a field and even from the distance, he was massive. The further along we drove, the more we saw. It was an eye opening experience to see these animals who used to be hunted down for their hides to the point of almost being extinct. After lunch, we went off roading and hiked through the Badlands. I loved being on the edge and overlooking everything below. Today offered so many new and exciting experiences and I cannot wait to see what tomorrow has in store.
