Today we went to Crazy Horse School to have our health fair for the middle and high school students. We had some students who were considered leaders come from the school and help us present. My partner for the fair was Mason who is a sophomore. When we had down time between the groups of students we had the chance to have many conversations ranging from football games to family life. It was really interesting hearing what he had been through and how different things are on the rez compared to in Wisconsin. I really enjoyed hearing his point of view on things. He wasn’t shy when it came to speaking his mind and sharing his opinion, but he was also very open minded. I greatly appreciate how welcoming and generous everyone has been since we have arrived and I can’t wait to come back this spring!
