The volunteer gastroenterology team has been busy this week at Rosebud Hospital! This blog entry is written by volunteer Tammy Aspeslet, RN from the GI Lab at Gundersen.
Day two and three have been busy. Yesterday we did 3 colonoscopy’s and 3 EGD’s removing 13 polyps. Today we did 3 colonoscopy’s and 5 EGD removing 4 polyps. One polyp was 12 millimeters, we tatooed it and is probable cancer with a good prognosis. We also saw one ER patient that Dr. Rathgaber actually admitted, yes he is the admitting provider 🙂
Tomorrow we have 8 patients and 11 procedures scheduled. There has only been one no show and everyone has completed the prep without a problem. The weather has been between 40-50 and very windy. Things are really going well, everyine is very nice and thankful we are here to help.
