The vans loaded early Sunday morning and the Health Academy and Gundersen teams left in a whirlwind…literally….is was very windy!
Smooth sailing for our drive stopping along the way at the Chamberlain visitors’ center overlooking the Missouri River. Fun to see excited faces of the 11 Health Academy students preparing for their visit. Not fun to see white caps on the river!
Hiking in the beautiful Badlands was a highlight for our travel day. We climbed Jacob’s ladder and followed the path which took us to the beautiful overlook of the reservation.
As the sun began to set, we pulled into that familiar “home”. . . the Lakota Prairie Ranch. After unpacking, we filled the LPR restaurant and enjoyed great food, stories, laughter and fellowship.
Time to settle in for the night.
. . . and the wind died down.
