Today was a very adventurous day. I first got to sleep in and catch up a little bit on my sleep that I longed for! We had a nice breakfast and then headed out for Custer State Park here in South Dakota. When we first got there we learned about the Tatonka or in other words the buffalo that were so prevalent way way back in the day.
Things were going very smoothly until Sue’s car got a flat tire! Our journey was to continue on, however a few were asked to stay back and not go out swimming. I volunteered to stay back in order for some of my other classmates to get a full experience at Custer park. After the van was fixed, we packed it full and drove through the scenic park and eventually got to go swimming.
We then topped off the day with Mount Rushmore and food and headed for home. What I took away from today were a couple of things. One was that I came out here with just a few relationships and ended up coming home with many. Another was that time really does fly when you are having fun, considering the week is already over and that we are heading home tomorrow. It was an overall very enjoyable experience and I hope to experience something like this again in my lifetime.
